In West Fermanagh, where we have the Lakeland Bible Weekend and have been involved in summer missions, an area work project has now commenced. Heather Wilson, now finished her Bible College studies, is doing quite extensive visitation and seeking openings to reach the community through coffee mornings and other means.
Jenny Kilpatrick is based in Eglish and we rejoice how schools have opened in Co Tyrone and Co Armagh for her to reach Bible Explorer RE lessons to primary school children P5 - P7. She is currently in four schools for the five week series and has openings into other schools for the new year. We praise God for how this ministry has opened up.
As well as their regular programmes, Jenny and
Heather are involved in getting around schools in their areas with the
cbooks@urschool project run through the Bookshops in Ireland these days.
They take an initial catalogue in to the schools and we pray more will take
on the initiative and allow the children in their school this opportunity of
purchasing Christian books. Children in P3 are offered a free new testament
and it is encouraging to have a number of schools in our West Irish district
embarking on this scheme.
