For almost three decades, the Faith Mission have been organising a convention in the Irish Midlands each summer.  For many of these years, Christian camps have also been held on the same site - that of a farm near Stradbally.  With an increase in attendace at both of these events, as well as a number of other factors, it was felt that a new venue should be sought.  In the providence of God, a 4 acre site on prime agricultural ground was acquired in Spring of 2010.

The new site is about 1.5 miles from Durrow Village, near the Kilkenny/Laois border.  It is situated within sight of the R639 Cork road and is accessed by a short secondary road.
The Durrow Centre is situated in the heart of the Irish Midlands: Kilkenny is about 25 mins drive away and Carlow is about 35mins drive.  Portlaoise is 20mins away.  Sat Nav: 52.834487,-7.437736

Chalet LayoutVisitors to the Durrow Centre stay in seven chalet blocks, sleeping 70 people in total. Each chalet is divided into three bedrooms, sleeping two, four or six people in bunk beds. Each bedroom has either a seperate shower and toilet, or an ensuite bathroom.  The chalets are wheel chair accessible, with one having full wet room facilities. The chalets emcompass a paved courtyard area. A paved courtyard area is in the centre of the chalet accommodation and provides a safe place for relaxing.

Meeting Rooms

A variety of room sizes are available, with the new meeting room seating 80 people, dining room, which can be seated for 120 people, and the sports hall which is available for larger conferences, where we have seating for 350 people.  Other areas including a smaller lounge can be used for break out groups.

"The Upper Room"

"The Upper Room" recreation area serves as a viewing gallery for the sports hall, but also provides relaxation space with coffee bar, fitted seating, pool table and table tennis table.

The meeting room as integrated projection and sound, as well as FreeSat TV and limited Wifi for group leaders.  The upper room boasts FreeSat TV on a Flatscreen and a mini amplifier with 3.5mm audio jack input.

The centre has a large catering kitchen, with two cookers, fryer, commercial dishwasher, refridgerators and freezer as well as other equipment.

The elevated playing field has views of the Slieve bloom mountains and surrounding countryside. A small adventure playground is also in place, as well as a separate area with a traversing wall. A tiered seating area with firepit provides a focal point for sing-a-longs and other activities.
